Ghiradelli Square and Golden Gate Bridge

Ghiradelli Square:

I FOUND IT!!
Chocolate everywhere! But not only is there so much to feast your tastebuds on, but there’s so much else going on here too!
I walked in and Eye of the Tiger was playing over the speakers in the “courtyard” type area. In front of me was a circular stack of hay bales decorated with pumpkins and gourds, and to the side was one of those bean bag toss games I played when I was younger. I wandered into all of the shops, received a Pumpkin Spice Ghiradelli chocolate sample, and enjoyed the sun. I wrote in my journal while I sat on a sunny bench “I’m embracing my inner tourist 100% 0 Shame. Sitting on a bench in the sun with music in Ghiradelli square journaling. I like it here.”

I also happened to pass the famous windy Lombard St. on my way to Ghiradelli Square. Now I can check two off my list!

Golden Gate Bridge:

After an abrupt change of plans early this morning, I was left at my aunts house with a day full of whatever possibilities I could imagine.

And I knew what I was going to conquer today:
The Golden Gate Bridge.
It’s on my list of things I need to do while I’m here, and while it’s touristy, I’m also a tourist and experiencing a new place, so of course I’m going to make a point to walk across this iconic bridge!
So I set out.
The sky was clear and blue, and it was 81 degrees, but the wind cooled it down a bit. It was perfect weather for walking and exploring.
To be honest, I set out with the intention that I would probably just walk part of the bridge, enjoy the view, and turn back, but once I got there I couldn’t let myself get only so far just to turn around, so of course, I decided to walk the length. It was filled with many others, both on foot and on bike, making it a tight squeeze at times, but we all managed.
As I approached the first pillar, I looked and contemplated the structure of this bridge, and while I know that obviously, it’s safe, part of me still thought about how we were all just suspended by a few hundred cables, and our complete reliance on those.
But after a minute or two, that passed and I enjoyed my walk until I reached the other side, checked out the welcome center, wandered around a bit, felt my stomach grumble, and turned back to make the journey once more and to eat some lunch.
